Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026

RangeVault (“RangeVault,” “we,” “us”) is a private organizational tool for firearm owners, collectors, and sport shooters — a place to log your collection, range sessions, maintenance, and expenses. RangeVault is operated by Preston Smith, d/b/a RangeVault. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you’re in control of it.

RangeVault is not a firearm marketplace, dealer, broker, or transfer service. We do not facilitate the sale, purchase, or transfer of firearms or ammunition, and nothing you enter is transmitted to any government agency, dealer, or third party for that purpose. RangeVault is also not a legal, compliance, or gunsmithing service — values you record are your own estimates, not appraisals, and you’re solely responsible for complying with the firearms laws that apply to you.

1.1Information you provide

  • Account: email address, username, display name, optional avatar and bio.
  • Collection records: manufacturer, model, caliber, category, photos, purchase date and price, your own estimated value, notes.
  • Private information (a RangeVault Pro feature, clearly labeled in-app as “PRIVATE — Only visible to you”): serial numbers, private notes, and uploaded documents such as receipts and warranty files.
  • Activity records: range sessions, rounds fired, distances, scores and group sizes, maintenance logs and reminders, accessories, and expenses.
  • Location, only when you provide it: if you search for nearby ranges, your device location (with your permission) or a location you type is sent to power that one search. RangeVault does not track your location in the background.
  • Billing status: your plan and renewal date. We never receive or store your full card number — payment is handled entirely by Paddle.com, our payment processor.

1.2How your private information is protected

Serial numbers, private notes, and uploaded documents are stored in a private file store with owner-only access, enforced at the database level — not just hidden in the app’s interface. This was verified directly before publishing this policy: a second account cannot read, list, or generate a shareable link to another user’s files, signed in or not.

1.3Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers to run RangeVault. None of them receive your private documents, serial numbers, or private notes except where explicitly noted:

SupabaseDatabase, authentication, and file storage (hosted via Lovable Cloud). Holds all of your data described above.
Paddle.comPayment processing, billing, and subscription management. Receives your email and billing status — never your private firearm records.
ResendDelivers welcome emails, security notices, and subscription receipts from noreply@rangevault.app.
GooglePowers range search results (Places API) when you use Range Finder.
Zoho MailHosts our hello@ and support@ mailboxes for correspondence you send us directly — not connected to your account data.
LovableOur application hosting provider runs basic site-traffic analytics (e.g. page views) on every page load to measure overall usage. Separate from, and without access to, the account data above.
MetaProvides advertising measurement through Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We send limited funnel and attribution data such as campaign parameters and Meta click identifiers. We do not send firearm records, serial numbers, private notes, documents, precise location, email addresses, or Supabase user IDs to Meta.

Note — verification/reset email sender

Account verification and password-reset emails currently go out through our application platform’s built-in delivery system rather than Resend. Stated accurately as of today; this section will be updated if that changes.

We do not sell your personal information. We use Meta advertising measurement to understand whether our ads lead to visits, signups, upgrades, checkout starts, and completed purchases. RangeVault limits the data sent for this purpose and does not send your firearm records, serial numbers, private notes, documents, precise location, email address, or Supabase user ID to Meta.

1.4Exporting and deleting your data

You can download a copy of your firearms, sessions, maintenance logs, expenses, and settings at any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Download My Data.

Account deletion

Account deletion is not yet a self-service button. Today, deleting your account means emailing support@rangevault.app — we’ll permanently remove your profile, firearms, documents, and every other record tied to your account.

1.5Children's privacy

RangeVault is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.

1.6Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these yourself in-app (editing records, exporting data); for anything else, contact support@rangevault.app. This policy is governed by the laws of Texas, United States.

1.7Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
